Newspapers: A Culture Of Complacency And Condescension

Rupert Murdoch, owner of new media MySpace and old media the Wall Street Journal, criticizes press editors and journalists of creating a culture of complacency and condescension.

In response to the arrogance and unaccountability of the press Mr Murdoch advocates doing exactly what I have done with this blog--I on Media-- anyone "can start up [their] own blog and cover and comment on the news [themselves]. Journalists like to think of themselves as watchdogs, but they haven't always responded well when the public calls them to account."
